Roxanne Lowenguth, D.D.S., M.S

Roxanne Lowenguth, D.D.S., M.S

Dr. Lowenguth is originally from Albany, New York. She graduated magna cum laude from Siena College in Loudonville, New York in 1982 with a BS in biology. Following graduation from Siena College, she attended SUNY at Buffalo’s School of Dental Medicine from 1982-86.

During dental school, she was actively involved in scientific research in the Department of Oral Biology and was awarded an Oral Biology Fellowship, an academic achievement award from the American Association of Women's Dentists, and achieved the Dean’s list.

Mary Ann Lester, D.M.D

Dr. Lester is a Periodontist and Implant Surgeon with over 21 years of expertise in esthetic and functional reconstruction of single implant/tooth replacement to multiple implants and full mouth reconstructive surgery. Periodontal surgery including treatment of periodontal disease requiring regeneration of lost soft tissue and bone using a number of current biologic technologies including enamel matrix protein (Emdogain) and Amniogenix-MTM (amniotic stem cells). Periodontal plastic surgery and non-surgical periodontal treatment. Severe periodontal infections may be treated with a combination therapy utilizing DNA analysis and culture and sensitivity to determine appropriate anti-microbial and chemotherapeutic medications. This may allow for non-surgical periodontal treatment.

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Lester received her B.S. in Biology/Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey in 1984, Magna Cum Laude. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson Dental School, Hackensack, New Jersey in 1988 with Honors. From 1988-89 Dr. Lester received advanced training (including IV sedation, general anesthesia, advanced CPR and dental implants) at Long Island Jewish Medical Center Dental GPR Hospital Residency.

From 1988-1990 Dr. Lester also maintained a private restorative dental practice in Northern New Jersey. She attended Emory University’s Periodontology program in Atlanta, Georgia from 1990-1991, with concurrent studies at the Center’s for Disease Control (CDC) and coursework in a Masters of Public Health.

Thomas Zahavi, D.M.D, M.S

Thomas Zahavi, D.M.D, M.S

Dr. Thomas Zahavi completed his combined DMD and Masters degree Summa Cum Laude from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he also received his speciality certificate in Prosthodontics with highest honors in the residency program. He practiced as a board certified Prosthodontist in Israel for several years before relocating to the USA. He then continued to pursue his second specialty program in Periodontics at the University of Rochester/ Eastman Institute for Oral Health. He was awarded a certificate of excellence from the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation and honored with a research fellowship from a major dental implant company. He is board certified Periodontist (USA), and Prosthodontist (Israel). His clinical experience and training in the two specialities proves to be invaluable, especially in patients requiring comprehensive periodontal and implant treatments. 

Dr. Zahavi is also a faculty member in the Deptartment of Periodontology at the University of Rochester/ Eastman Institute for Oral Health. He received teaching awards recognizing his commitment to educating the next generation of periodontists at the highest clinical level. 

Dr. Zahavi is a member of several dental, periodontal and implantology organizations. He has lectured on Periodontal, Prosthetic and Implantology topics nationally and internationally and has published in several peer-review journals.

He is married to Dr. Netta Zahavi, a skilled veterinarian at The Village Vet located in Webster, NY. The couple have three children. Dr. Zahavi enjoys gourmet vegan cooking, triathlon training, golf and spending time with his family.

 

James InFantino, D.D.S.

James InFantino, D.D.S.

Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Dr. Infantino attended college and dental school at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He received his graduate training at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Medicine and Dentistry, and received a Certificate in Periodontology in 1965. Dr. Infantino has been in full-time private practice in Rochester since 1965.

Lisa Yerke, D.D.S

Lisa Yerke, D.D.S

Dr. Lisa Yerke earned her B.S. in Biology summa cum laude from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY. She was accepted into the early assurance/joint degree program at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where she had a minor in periodontology and was involved in research concentrating on autoimmune diseases of the oral tissues. She graduated with multiple honors, including the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics and the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Award.

Dr. Yerke continued her studies in periodontology at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health. She became a board certified Periodontist following her graduation and certificate in periodontics.

Dr. Yerke is currently faculty at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and has been recognized for her dedication to teaching with the Dental Educator Award for Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring in Periodontics in 2012. She is active in the dental community and serves actively on the board of the 7th District Dental Society. She is a member of multiple organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Dental Association.
